Excursion to Arashiyama and Toei Kyoto Studio Park
Kyoto Language Academy conducted an off-campus learning program jointly with the April- and October-term students, visiting Arashiyama and Toei Kyoto Studio Park.

Prior to the excursion, students participated in a preparatory lesson in which they shared basic information about each destination, reviewed the day’s schedule, and confirmed appropriate manners and rules for public spaces. At our academy, these advance sessions are an essential part of ensuring that all off-campus activities are both safe and meaningful. It was encouraging to see students actively exchanging ideas, asking questions, and approaching the preparation with a positive and collaborative attitude.

On the day of the excursion, we were blessed with calm and pleasant weather. As students explored scenic locations and experienced local culture unique to Kyoto, they showed expressions quite different from those in the classroom—bright, engaged, and full of curiosity. Conversations naturally flourished during transit and breaks, fostering interaction across different student groups and creating valuable opportunities for connection.

During the visits, students were also mindful of those around them—speaking at appropriate volumes, being aware of where they stopped or gathered, and conducting themselves responsibly as members of the local community. Such awareness is an important aspect of daily life in Japan, and we were proud to see students embody these values in practice.

Through this excursion, students were able to experience aspects of “Kyoto-ness” that cannot be learned solely from textbooks, deepening their understanding of Japanese culture through real-world experience.
Kyoto Language Academy extends its sincere appreciation to the local community for their continued understanding and support. We will continue to incorporate experiential learning outside the classroom, providing an environment where students can grow through meaningful engagement with society.
