Spring Field Trip 2026: Visiting Nara Park
Kyoto Language Academy recently held our Spring Field Trip for 2026. This trip was especially exciting as we had just welcomed our third group of new students. Together with our faculty and staff, a large group of about 70 people visited the beautiful city of Nara Park, a place famous for its rich history and culture.
Upon arriving, our first stop was to visit Todai-ji Temple, a famous World Heritage site, where everyone looked up in awe at the magnificent Great Buddha. Inside the temple hall, the students had a wonderful time trying the famous “Pillar Hole Crawl.” It was a great chance for them to experience the powerful presence of Japan’s historic architecture firsthand. The students also enjoyed feeding “Shika Senbei” (deer crackers) to the wild deer living in the park, making it a truly special experience connecting with Nara’s beautiful nature and culture.
After our walk, the students split into groups of four for some free exploration time. To help them mingle, each group was made up of students from different nationalities and classes. Their goal was to reach the final meeting point at the Prefectural Bus Terminal. Looking at their maps and talking together, the students walked through the charming, historic streets, shopped for souvenirs, and enjoyed a wonderful time in their own ways.
Throughout the day, it was lovely to see our students looking so cheerful and relaxed—a wonderful contrast to their serious, focused faces during regular classes. Most of all, we were deeply moved to see them overcome barriers of language, culture, and school years. They tried their best to communicate with each other using Japanese—their shared language—showing kindness and sharing many smiles.
At Kyoto Language Academy, we believe that learning happens both inside and outside the classroom. We are fully committed to providing our utmost support to ensure that each student’s life in Japan is fruitful, happy, and filled with unforgettable memories.
